Hinglaj Marutirtha
The location of Hinglaj is about 170 miles from Karachi. Devotees/ pilgrims make their way by road on Quetta-Karachi Highway, untill zero point for about 75 miles. Hindu believes that ‘Head of Sati’ with Hingul [ Sindhur, Vermillion ] is enshrined at Hingul Parvat on Makran.
Pilgrimage
It is said that Sita, Rama and his brother have visited Hinglaj, when Lord Ram was on exile. Now a days many devotees within and outside Balochistan, still take pilgrimage. Many people call it ‘Nani Ki Hajj’, whereas for Hindu, the auspicious pilgrimage is Marutirtha.
The shrine is on the river bank of Hingol, at the tail of Kheer Thar mountains, called ‘Kanraj’ at Lyari tehsil, Balochistan. Like Amarnath in Jammu and Kashmir or pilgrimage in mountains, Hinglaj Marutirtha is generally a difficult-one.
