Sabarimala

Sree Dharma Sastha Temple

The temple is for people from every religion, but there are rituals for entering inside the complex. There is a region, east of Sannidhanam of Ayyappa, for Vavar, a close friend of Ayyappa, a region called as Vavaru Nada, epitome of harmony in religion.

It is said that pilgrims have to observe celibacy for 41 days before going to Sabarimala. Pilgrims take the intrinsic passage chosen by pilgrims through a deep forest as well as the one from Pamba which is less challenging to reach Shree Dharma Sastha temple.

A merchant has covered the 2 walls & 2 doormen figures, which is 50 sq. ft, in gold. On a special day at Tiru-Onam.

Every year, millions converge at Sabarimala irrespective of creed/ caste, with plenty of garlands and irumudis, they chant paeans to Lord Ayyappa, bathe in the holy river Pampa, climb up the eighteen stairs, hoping to catch glimpses of the Lord Ayyappa, the Dharmasastha
