History of the Ujjayanta Palace

The palace of victory aptly reflects the victorious spirit of the erstwhile rulers. It was designed by Burn and Martin. The construction of the palace was completed around 1901 – and it was purchased from the royal family by the Government of Tripura in and around 1972-73.

Surrounded by lush gardens and a lake, the palace complex offers a tranquil atmosphere, creating a popular destination. The well-maintained gardens offer picturesque setting for leisurely walks and picnics, while the surrounding greenery adds to the palace’s charm.
