Amer Fort

Amer being an ancient fort city showcases a lot of historically significant places. Some of the known spots which can be found are –

Diwan-e-Aam of Amer Fort

A hall where kings would’ve attended grievances. The pillars inside the Diwan-e-Aam gives character for this hall. A point worth noticing is that Diwan-e-Aam has dual elephant fixed atop the pillars.

Sila Devi Temple

Dedicated to Kali, is with ornate doors is dedicated to Shakti. Even ruins of Kapilvastu reveal signs of worshiping female form of divinity.

Jaleb Chowk

Once you climb the mighty wall of the Fort, you would enter the fort through the Sun Gate. In the courtyard, there is a saffron (Kesar) garden in the middle which shows an attempt to grow Saffron in Rajasthan.

Ganesh Pol in Amer Fort

This is the real entrance to the private areas of Amer Palace. The frescos on Ganesh Pol showcases Lord Ganesha. The walls and ceilings are painted with floral motifs and frescos show floral motifs, showcasing Mughal and English influence in the choice of colours – (Pastels). The Amer Fort represents the fusion era.
