Vaishnavite Festival

Majuli Festival showcases Vaishnavite culture. The island festival is held every year at the largest river island of the world. There are many monasteries known as Satras in Assam, which reflects neo-Vaishnavite movement of Srimant Sankardev or by Madhavdev. Cultural program and exhibitions are showcased on this occasion.

History of the Majuli Festival

The Majuli Festival is a major attraction which provides a glimpse of the culture. The location is extremely picturesque with cultural programs that shed light on local beliefs. A food festival showcasing delicacies of Assam, artisans who exhibit crafts & products like local traditional garments and handicrafts, products made of cane or bamboo.
