Ujjayanta Palace, standing at the heart of Tripura, is a famous royal house that boasts tiled-floors, well crafted doors & curved wooden ceilings that showcases the rare skills.

The state museum of Tripura is well known for its display of ethnic lifestyle, cultural artefacts & utility crafts of communities residing in and around Tripura. This 3 storey mansion has a mixed architecture, with nice Mughal gardens. Palace provides a unique experience and allows visitors to witness the royal history amidst tranquil gardens.

History of the Ujjayanta Palace

The palace of victory aptly reflects the victorious spirit of the erstwhile rulers. It was designed by Burn and Martin. The construction of the palace was completed around 1901 – and it was purchased from the royal family by the Government of Tripura in and around 1972-73.

Surrounded by lush gardens and a lake, the palace complex offers a tranquil atmosphere, creating a popular destination. The well-maintained gardens offer picturesque setting for leisurely walks and picnics, while the surrounding greenery enhance the palace’s charm.
