마식령 스키장

The Masikryong Ski resort is located near the east coast of the DPRK, about 15 mile away from Wonsan and takes around 3 and a half hrs to drive there from Pyongyang, Korea. Build within a period of just 10 months by Korean People’s Army, it has perfect as well as luxurious ski resort of North Korea.

Masikryong Ski Resort offers more than 9 slopes and 4 different levels ranging from beginners to proficient. The highest point here is Taehwa Peak. The snowfalls happens during mid-December until February. It takes 2.5 hrs to drive from Pyongyang to Masikryong Ski Resort. Foreigns have a special permit for transportation to Masikryong Ski Resort in North Korea, which allows visitors to enter the country and use the resort’s facilities. It is important for foreigners to check the North Korean Embassy.

Masikryong is functional all year round. If you would rather stay at the Hotels in Wonsan like Dongmyong or the Songdowon, that can be arranged too, while having the option to go for a hike and enjoy views in every season.
