Colombo To Kandy (5 Day)

Peradeniya is a great destination for its Royal Botanical Garden with variety of orchids. This beautiful garden was built by a Sinhala king and was further expanded by the British. Covered within a span of about 147 acres, it consists of 4000 species of plants ranging from medicinal plant of several spices, orchids and palm trees. The day follows with a visit to the bazaar and a museum of gems.

Overview

Day 1

Arrival in Colombo

On arrival, our agent will meet you outside the Customs area and transfer you to your resort/ villa/ hotel. You will drive 40 km, about 50 minute to reach your hotel from the airport. Check in to your room and relax or you can also stroll to familiarize yourself with the Colombo.

Day 2

Colombo Sightseeing

In this tour, you’ll see that the city has still its charm of the bygone era. Old Town Hall, Red Mosque, Colombo Lighthouse, the Prison Cell of the last Sinhala King, Lighthouse with Clock Tower designed by Lady Ward which was built before the Big Ben in London.

Day 3

Colombo – Pinnawala (85 km) – Kandy (45 km)

Drive from Colombo to Pinnawala which will take about 2 hours to reach. We will visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, a home to elephants that are abandoned or orphaned in the wild. Here they are being cared, fed and trained. See them play in river or feed them. After spending good time with the elephants, we will continue our journey to Kandy. It will take around 1 hour to reach Kandy.

Day 4

Kandy Sightseeing

Transfer for Peradeniya, explore the Royal Botanical Garden. With trees & orchids a beautiful garden was built by a Sinhala king. It was further expanded via the Britishers. Covered in a span of 147 acres, it consists of more than 4000 species of spices, plants, orchids, palm tress as well as plants for medicinal purposes. After this tour at the garden, we will enrich our souls with other attractions of Kandy. Here we drive around a lake built by the last Sinhala king. The day follows bazaar exploration and a tour at museum of gems. The last stop will be at the Temple of the Tooth Relic, a sacred Buddhist Temple.

Day 5

Kandy – Colombo

Today you’ll be at Colombo Airport (110 km – 2 hours)
