Delhi

On the first day of your arrival at Delhi Airport/ Station, you will be transferred to your stay. Delhi bridges two different worlds, New & Old Delhi, once a capital of rulers & emperors of Indian subcontinent. A labyrinth of havelis, formidable temples & mosques covers Old allies of Delhi. In contrast, the New Delhi is covered with tree-lined avenues & quite spacious.

Delhi served as the seat of power for several empires for about a millennium. It was built & destroyed several times. A fascinating fact is that many rulers played a dual role in Delhi as they first came as destroyers, then settled or contributed for rebuilding this ancient node.

If time permits, you can do a half day sightseeing of Old Delhi.

Delhi – Shimla

Shimla takes around 7 Hrs from Delhi. The British empire may have ceased to exist, but its echo still lingers in and around Shimla, a vacation destination at an elevation of 2205 m., once a capital in summer times for Britishers.

Shimla Sightseeing

Visit Kufri which is at 2501 m above the sea surface. Shimla has wide views and ski slopes. Walk towards the Mahasu Peak – Jakhoo Hill, at 2455 m; Shimla’s highest peak and a really amazing point for its views. The summit is crowned with a temple

• Visit the ridge which is a large space in the heart of Shimla that provides excellent views of the mountain ranges.
• Shimla’s heritage – neo – gothic structure of Christ Church & Tudor library.

Shimla – Chandigarh

Drive to Chandigarh, 114 km from Shimla & takes around 4 hours. Visit Sukhna Lake, Rose Garden and Shopping Centre, if you are a shopper holic.

Chandigarh – Amritsar

Drive to Amritsar can take around 4 hours. Have darshan at Golden Temple, see Jallianwala Bagh. Watch all horrors commited via colonisers from distant lands. After meals, visit Indo-Pak border crossing – Wagah.

Amritsar – Delhi

Drive back to Delhi, it can take around 8 hours. Then you will be at IGI Airport or at a railway Junction in Delhi.
